From Germany comes the totally futuristic  ASB Glassfloor.  The ASB GlassFloor is the most advanced flooring system in the world. Its unique aluminium substructure and the custom made surface of the glass deliver a floor ideal for a sports floor but also for its use in any modern building.

The properties of glass allow for more than just an optimised floor surface. LED marking lines can be switched on/off or changed on demand.

This amazing light and glass floor is made from tempered security glass and can withstand enormous impact. The panels are made from two specially-treated glass plates. The glass panels can be produced to a size larger than 2×2 metres and make the floor longer lasting than any conventional floor.

The surface of the glass undergoes several special treatments to achieve ideal elasticity, friction and reflection of light and the  flooring is ISO and EN certified.  The surface can be in almost any colour you like. The colour of the floor is determined by special foil coat applied to the bottom of the floor and can be changed even after years.

The Glasgow Rocks will make the Emirates Arena their home court, not only playing games their but also locating their offices in the new sports complex.

The new Arena will also provide the people of Glasgow with one of the biggest Glasgow Club gyms in the city with well over 55 pieces of equipment in the gym, and with views overlooking the Velodrome and the Indoor Arena.

The sports hall floor is a sprung wooden Junckers SylvaSport  surface, supplied and installed by McKay Flooring who also carried out the installation of the FIBA Basketball sports courts.

The entire sports floor area is over 1,500m2 in size and has 15 competition standard sports courts marked out for a range of sports including Basketball, Badminton, Netball and indoor football. The new venue and flooring works are part of the huge Glasgow Commonwealth Games development that Glasgow City Council have carried out to regenerate the cities east end.
